Yousuke Yukimatsu Rocks Coachella Post-Remission

Following a career-defining Boiler Room set, the experimental DJ continues to inspire global audiences with his high-energy and deeply resilient performances.
Yousuke Yukimatsu is a Japanese DJ and electronic artist celebrated for a chaotic, genre-defying style that deconstructs techno, house, hip-hop, and avant-garde pop.
Known for his high-energy and eventually shirtless performances, Yukimatsu has become a fixture at major festivals like Berlin Atonal and Thailand’s Wonderfruit.
His path to the global stage was defined by a profound personal turning point. In 2016, while working in construction, Yukimatsu was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. The life-altering news prompted him to quit his construction job the same day to pursue music with singular focus.
Yukimatsu’s rise began in the vibrant club scene of Osaka, where he organized the “Zone Unknown” parties. His ability to blend disparate elements – ranging from harsh industrial textures to delicate ambient passages – eventually caught the eye of major curators.
In 2025, his artistry was showcased through a featured set on Boiler Room – a popular broadcasting channel for underground club music – which instantly amplified his reach to a global audience.
Continuing his high-profile ascent, he performed at Coachella 2026, bringing his experimental Japanese underground sound to one of the world’s largest stages.
Now 46, the Osaka native moves with a personal perspective shaped by deep-seated resilience. His sets provide inspiration to a crowd searching for their own breakthrough, fueled by the energy of someone who has come out the other side stronger.
